Hi,

My computer has been crashing randomly as of late, its been running perfectly fine for the past 5 years or so.

It crashed once a month or so back, just froze, keyboard/mouse wouldnt do anything, no BSOD, only option was to reboot it, this corrupted windows (XP Pro) and it wouldnt start up, got to the blue welcome to windows screen but then wouldnt go any further.

I formatted and reinstalled on a relatively new hard drive about a month back, only have basic things installed, winamp, AVG, firefox and thunderbird, pretty much it.

Then its started to just freeze again, and im stuck in the same problem, so I assume it must be a hardware fault, but im not too sure what. My best guess would be hard drive as I cant see anything else going faulty.

System spec is a

XP2500+ with a Zallyman flower heatsink.
Abit NF7 with Zalman silent northbridge cooler.
1GB PC2700 made up of 2x256mb and 1x512mb sticks.
80GB HDD and a 120GB WD Caviar 7200 drive connected by PATA.
Nvidia 5900XT AGP 8x
Santa Cruz Turtle Beach
D-link G wireless network card
Enermax 431w PSU

Any ideas on what it might be?

Thanks
