odd disk space problem

Hi,

My brand new Toshiba 1TB External drive turned up yesterday an I have been backing up a lot of my stuff however I seem to have run into a weird problem.

I am trying to copy over a backup of a DVD (6.3GB) and it keeps telling me:

"Not Enough Free Disk Space"

The drive I am copying too has 894GB free , the drive I am copying from has 47GB and the C: has 25gb free.

Running on XP.

Anyone any advice?

Have a look under Disk Management and see what file system the disk has been formatted with - if it's FAT32 then there is a file size limit at IIRC 4GB. NTFS doesn't have this restriction.
