Hi All

Want to as about some advice for a phone that I bought on ebay 9days ago.

I won a new Nokia N95 8GB on ebay. Got a good price on it too. Straight after the auction the seller was in touch via email.

I asked him if I could collect, and he said yes, no problems. He sent me his full address, and name, and postcode etc. In the end I decided it was too far for me to go - bishops stortford - so I asked him to post it.

He was charging 5% extra for paypal, so I agreed to a bank transfer. We both have HSBC accounts, so I assumed the transfer would be fairly quick. I did it last thursday, and it looks as if it has gone through okay.

Over the last few days I have been trying to get in touch, but no reply to any of my emails whatsoever. I have tried various email accounts incase it was getting blocked etc. There have been no parcels delivered to me either.

I have contacted HSBC who said the money has definitley gone through. This guy has 107 positive feedbacks , and has been an ebayer for 2 years. Tried googling his name etc, and nothing much turns up.

I have been emailing every day, some days twice a day, but no reply whatsoever. Tmrw will be 10 days, so I can start an ebay dispute - but I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas ?

It seems really odd for someone to give all their details, and also be prepared to let me collect, and then not reply to any emails.

Anyone have any good suggestions ?

you stand on his door step. No intimidation there. :p j/k

He might be in hospital or something. i have had that happen. Thought i had been had but then 2 weeks later got a email and another day later got my item :)

IIRC there is somewhere in ebay where you can get the account holders details, but the trade-off is he also receives your details. But looks like he knows those anyway. I can't be bothered to traul through eBay to find it, but I'm sure it's there? (Although if nobody else has heard of this I'm probably making it up )

I've used that feature when i first started ebaying a few years back, alas i don't know where it is. Its something along the lines of "request member details".

Woke up this morning and phoned the number I got through ebay, and it was answered by an estate agents company in birmingham ? ? ? ? ?

Anyways, 10 minutes later ( after I had spent £10 on 192.com searches ) , the postman arrived, with a brand new N95 8GB.

Feeling a little stupid now - but hey ho

Do you think I should leave neutral feedback on ebay ?
