Odd Gfx card related (?) boot problem

Not yet. I take it will be in the mobo manual?

Yup the manual will show you how to do it. It involves changing the jumper on the motherboard for 10-20 secs then returning it to its original position.

sounds like either the connection to the GFX card (to your monitor) or your monitor power supply is faulty. Disconnect all of the said thingys and reconnect them and if nothing's happening still then at least there's less variables in the way.

I've reset the CMOS - pressed DEL to set it back up and it just freezes... Ideas?

EDIT: I don't need to press anything - just leave it a few sections and it freezes. heeelp!

Right. It still freezes 2 seconds into boot. It isn't the monitor, and it isn't excess power drain or whatever. I don't have a spare PCI Express gfx card so can't change that... any ideas what else I could change... the only spare PS is a Q-tec......

Noop not the memory. Just changed it all round and same problem. Freeze after 2 seconds.

disconnect everything, leave cpu and ram in - check that it gives correct beeps for these so that these are not screwed up.

then attach graphics - check it gets further
then hdd - again see if it boots and how far.

Anything otherthan this i am not sure.
