Odd Noise from WD5000AAKS

hi

I have 2 of the above hard drives in Raid 0, one them seems to be generating an odd loud clicking sound from it like it's vibrating in the case, I have checked the fitting of it, all looks ok.

Any Suggestions ?

Take it out of the case but leave it hooked up and hold it with your hands... if its still clicking it needs RMA'ing.

If it's a definite clicking then it sounds like it's the hard drive on its way out. Backup all yer important datas.

Yeap, don't let it click for too much. Back up what you need, then RMA the drive.
