Odd noise while driving

Howdy people.

Recently sent my car (2000 Hyundai Coupe f2) for a service, came back without anything wrong with it, a few months ago it passed its MOT with flying colours too, however ive noticed something odd since then.

When im driving, and picking up speed (55-70 ish), the steering wheel can start vibrating, and the road noise increases significantly, and i can only assume it is something wrong with the wheels, when i turn left the noise corrects itself and is back to its normal quiet self.

Driving straight or turning right = loud noise again, anyone have any suggestions? Car doesnt really feel any different or worse to drive since this but i'm worried sick i could be causing more damage by continuing to drive it.

How loud is the noise? Does it correlate with the wheels spinning faster?

The faster i go, the louder it gets - its not deafaningly loud but unless i am to turn the radio up a bit, it drowns out the sound of it ;p

Does it get noisier when turning right? First and most obvious thing to check is that the wheel nuts are tight. It's not unknown for mechanics to hand tighten them and then forget to torque them up...

If the wheel nuts are ok, then these symptoms can indicate a failing wheel bearing, probably on the nearside (left as you sit in car) front wheel. If possible, jack that corner up, hold tyre at top and bottom (not left/right) and try to rock it. Any detectable movement is bad news.

Wheel bearings are a known problem for the hyundai coupe's. Maybe check there!
