Odd off camera flash problem

Hi all,

After seeing mrk's watch photo I thought I'd try a little photo of one of my watches in a similar vein so i got my 5d2 out, attached my yongnuo rf602 trigger to the hot shoe, attached the receiver to one of my yongnuo 460 flash clicked and no flash?

I checked that both trigger and receiver were set to the same number, 4 on 1,2 and 3 off. Everything seems to be ok but its not working, well it flashed once then repeatedly didn't.

If i attach the flash directly to the camera it works, if i use the trigger off the camera the flash goes off but its only when the trigger is on the camera that it doesn't work.

Any ideas? :confused:

how very odd it must be something to do with the external flash settings? i have those triggers and a 568ex and dont have an issue?

Broken trigger or receiver.

Or dead battery.

I've ruled those out as the trigger and receivers work, the leds flash and when connected (albeit not on the camera) the flash is triggered fine.

The flash only has the M, S1, S2 modes and any time i used the flash before I've had it in the M mode either on or off the camera and its worked. Haven't done anything different this time so scratching my head a bit.

EDIT :

Looks like the trigger battery must have been on its last legs. it was intermittently working before but now I'm not getting anything. Changed it with the battery from my remote trigger and everything is peachy again. DOH!
