Hi

I have an EVGA 780i mobo and have just tried to flash the BIOS - The process can be done by either bootable Floppy, CD or Flashdrive.

Basically set your first boot device to whichever method your using, then the programme on the bootable drive launches the programme, flashes the BIOS, voila !

I have done this before when I first go the mobo, but this time (using the bootable CD) it comes up with a message that its going into DOS, but the programme wont launch and the machine just stalls - and no lights on the drive to show its being read.

So, i go back into windows to check the drive - all appears fine i can see the program and read / write to the drive

So i try my DVD player - exactly the same thing.

After 1/2 hour of routing about I find an old floppy drive and floppy and try it via that method - exactly the same

Finally try the flashdrive and exactly the same.

PC POSTS - Appears to have gone into DOS - awaiting the program to launch and the drive light goes out / wont read from either CD / DVD drive, floppy or flash drive.

Im completely flummoxed - anybody any ideas ?

Cheers

TB
