I have quite an odd problem and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

When i shutdown my windows xp computer (nforce4 amd x2 4400) it automatically restarts.
If i choose to hibernate my computer it will automatically turn itself off after hibernating as it is supposed to.
Restarting the pc works as normal.

I have tried disbaling/enabling all power management options in windows and bios including achpi, and about every option in the bios.

In the end I decided to leave it as i normally hibernate my pc anyway.

Today I fitted my new 1.5TB hard drive and in doing so unplugged most of my devices from my computer.

As it would happen I plugged in my Logitech keyboard in last (USB keyboard connected via ps2 adapter due to lack of usb ports).

As soona s i plugged this in my computer started up!

So i experimented and my pc will automatically restart only if i have my keyboard plugged in.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? As i am completly stumped on this

As above or you have an app running or loading on startup thats causing it, before SP1 there was a big issue with certain packet writing software (from EasyCD i think), if this was installed windows would always reboot on shutdown.
Try disabling All your startup apps and test.

Maybe it likes you and doesn't want you to go.. "come play another game.. please... I love you Bry."
