I have a Cisco 857w router and have experienced a very odd problem ever since configuring it over a year ago now. When the router is restarted or when the line has dropped temporarily the connection takes hours to become stable with constant drops and reconnects sometimes every 10 or so seconds, sometimes with minutes inbetween. When it eventually sorts itself out (usually by the following morning) it is rock solid, it's just started playing up today for instance but it has been connected with no downtime for around 5 months prior to that. By tomorrow i know it will be 100% fine again until the next time.
I never had that issue with the Zyxel i had previous to the Cisco so i know it's not the connection. I've asked my ISP to limit my BRAS profle (should be done in around an hour apparently) to the next one down as i just can't think what else it can be.
Has anyone ever come across anything similar before?
