Whenever I try to launch steam from the shortcut or from the tiles in windows 8 it will automatically try to sign me in without even showing up the login screen. I have not told it to save my password so its obviously not going to work like this but the error that it spews out is that it cannot connect to the steam network, despite the fact that my dads computer downstairs can quite happily connect to steam. It wont let me run in offline mode either so i'm stuck not being able to alter any settings with steam. I have run steam on this laptop before without any issues so if anyone has any suggestions i'm all ears.
