Hi there,

I have an AMD 4000+ (o/c to 2.8GHz), 2GB RAM and a DFI NF4 INFINITY mobo. All of this, and 2 DVD drives, 1 SATA HDD and 1 IDE HDD, is powered by an Antec TruePower II 480W PSU, which I've had for about 5 months.

Now, I have a severe problem with the whole thing.

When I press the power button on the PC, the fans spin for about 1 second, then stop, and the PC refuses to start. This happens over, and over, and over again until eventually the whole thing cranks into life and works fine - no crashes etc.

I thought it may be a dodgy power switch on the case, to purchases a spanking new Antec case, but still the problem persists.

Could anyone please, please help, as I'm at my wits end :(

Cheers!

I had a very similar problem with my Antec Neopower (around 18 months old I think) just recently. It would take many tries before the system fired up properly, but once it did, all was OK until the next time I had to power it off. I've just replaced it with a Seasonic M12 inspired by some very favourable comments on these boards, and it is now absolutely fine. So I would agree with the suggestions that you try another PSU.

Paul.

First see if you can try another PSU mate as i don`t want you rushing out a spending £ if its not the problem.your PSU rails whats your +5 @

Yeah, the 3.3V rail on the other PSU did seem low.

Some PSUs just do that to you - I had a Hiper that did exactly that (although it would never turn on ... ever), I got it RMAed and everything is fine.
