Odd question - Anyone got a small ensuite shower room?

With the room being so small it seems like it it might be impractical to install a shower cubicle with the end result seeming cramped

Have you considered making a 'wet room' instead, so the entire room that you make becomes your shower cubicle effectively. This would make a more interesting addition and probably add more value to the house

I think it's too small for a wet room!? ie: Water would reach all the way to the door (1 meter or so away) and there would be no way to dry your feet off on a mat for example before exiting into the bedroom.

I do think it makes more sence to have that 80x90cm square space (with a small mat, sink, mirror and towel rail) which really is nothing more than a walk thru into the neighbouring shower.

My mum has one with a door that slides into the wall, yanks call it a "pocket door". Hers is literlly the width of the shower but long enough to fit basin and bog in, she loves it and the small size means you can buy more expensive tiles, make it a wet room, etc...

In terms of space standards in the regulations you need to have a space 800 x 700mm in front of a sink and 800 x 800 in front of a shower within an accessible bathroom. You're not a million miles away with what you're proposing and the good thing is you don't have to adhere to the space standards in an en suite. So unless you're a great big fatty you should be fine with that :p

ensuites here are literally 5x3 with shower (~3x3) and basin and to use you have to have the door slid back (similiar to the pocket door mentioned above).

Cheers!

The only issues I have with a sliding door are thickness - The depth of the shower room is already tight. It needs to fit into the space defined by the door into the bedroom, about 98cm. So the entire shower room needs to fit into a space less than 98cm. I fear a sliding door would make the wall too thick and use/waste too much space.
