Odeon Limitless

Agree go on your own its a better and more peaceful and less stressful experience.

You get to fully absorb the film, I got once in a blue moon but will up it more this year but so far only paying for the good films which is rare and often !

These contracts with limitless passes read the tncs some are 12 months contract !

Think they are all 12 month contracts from what I have seen, otherwise it'd be far too easy to abuse.

Been a limitless holder for coming up to a year now.

Not entirely sure if we'll cancel soon. Certainly made our monies worth in the first 6 months, but now it feels like a huge commitment to go every weekend. I've not been now in 3 months, so do need to make a decision on whether to continue the scheme.

A friend of mine is on the Cineworld and i believe after the first year he was upgraded to 3D included, so at least Cineworld are rewarding their loyal members. I don't think Odeon do anything.

It's still early days for the Odeon card, the Cineworld scheme has been running since around 2000 from UGC and the 1+ year loyalty didn't start until late 2012. Hoping it will expand to Imax/4DX as there's currently a £5+ uplift for those, no discount compared to the non-loyalty Cineworld card. Go to the cinema during the week (not Wednesdays), it's a lot quieter :)

Think there were about 8 people in the screen on Tuesday night in Bayswater Odeon. I think it's just a generally quiet cinema, shame it's closing down soon I think.

No unfortunately they don't, I believe cineworld up the 10% off food/drinks to 25% after 1 year too.

Yer - Cineworld give you 10% off food/drink at the cinema and also at a number of restaurants too. After 1 year the card goes black and that discount becomes 25% and 3D films are no extra cost.
Still I await a platinum card for say 10 years of membership :)

Cineworld one is decent after a year with 25% off and 3D, the restaurants near my local one are 25-30% off too with just the normal unlimited card.

Vue cinemas tend to be put in areas that are busy enough to attract people without a pass week round but not quite fill up, which is probably why they dont offer a limitless ticket membership.

Cinemas only really just cover their movie costs with tickets, with the real money made from food and drink. That popcorn and coke cost them pennies and so carry a huge margin for them.

I cant help but feel the cinemas need a bit of a change up like offering to show big budget TV series like GOT and such on a weekly or fortnightly basis (single or double episodes) as my local vue have 10 screens and only 2 maybe 3 big films on at once and it seems that they show the same film up to 11 times a day. I went to see Logan last week on Wednesday night and there were showings every 15 minutes with only about a quarter of the seats filled. I can see these big budget flashy shows premiering or airing highly anticipated new seasons as quite good for everyone involved.
