Thanks for looking in my wife is run IE6 and has been using OE now for sometime but in the last week she cannot send/receive any email due to the above message it is not followed by any error code just the message above.
We have created a new profile and also gone into the general tab and put in her user details again, and checked her pop and smtp settings, in addition we have also system restored but still OE refuses to send/receive . She doesn't want to change her mail programme (or can she and still import all her emails into the new programme if so how does she do this?)
Ideally I am hoping some of you peeps can come up with a fix - she is running XP Home SP3
