oem drive firmware

hello guys

just bought a 256 gb oem ssd by lite-on (for dell I believe)from ebay .My question is do
I need to update the firmware or not.If i do then should i use the dell firmware as that is the only one available for it that i could find. Would this be a problem or should I just leave it and just install as is.Are there any forum members with any experience of this drive who could shed some light or am i just fussing too much.
Any help is much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

What's the exact model number of it and what firmware is currently on it?

hi there.
the exact model no is LCT-256M3S-41. dont know the current firmware as i have not installed it but the date of manufacture is july 2013 and the dell
firmware date is after this. hope this helps and thanks for reply
