I'm aware that OEM is just the basic package, no extras.

I was wondering, if you bought an OEM hard drive would you need to buy a power and SATA cable seperately?

(Does buying wires seperately apply to all OEM products?)

Thanks

OEM usually just means the bare product and in some cases it can have a shorter warranty. You might miss out on some of the packaged software but the drivers are almost always freely downloadable from the manufacturers website though.

With hard/optical drives you should find the necessary SATA/IDE cables came with the motherboard and the power cables will have come with the PSU.
