Ofcom to fine 4Chan

I didn't even know 4chan was still going lol
Quote from Reddit..

"Trying to poke 4chan and 4chan-like image boards in general is never a good idea. They've got their little crack den, and it doesn't really spill out into other neighbourhoods anymore, so it's best to let them fester in their own faeces than set the crack den on fire, because all that will do is make them go cuckoo other people's houses and turn them into crack dens also, like some sort of demented crack hydra."

I am fully invested in seeing how this pans out.

Isn't that when 4chan found it by the stars in the sky etc?
Autism can be a wonderful thing.

Stars, plane routes, a few other methods like background noise and local wildlife.

Absolutely brilliant stuff.

Something about frogs too, they isolated a frog from the ambient sounds and then identified the frog and where it's from. Decentralized spackers, bloody great.

As much as I agree with the premise of the online safety stuff and what the government are trying to achieve.. they’ve picked the wrong fight, I’ll be keeping the popcorn ready for the inevitable showdown.

This is going to get entertaining.

Ofcom are probably going to use up all their budget chasing this one lol

Look, I'm gonna level wit ya. I thought it was you. You said it wasn't. I then searched your posts, and couldn't find anything, until:

So, whilst it's tenuous, it's still enough for me to shirk this one and blame you anyway :D
2022

But what are the accusing 4chan of?
It says in the link of the first post:

  • Failure to respond to a statutory information request;
  • Failure to complete and keep a record of a suitable and sufficient illegal content risk assessment; and
  • Non-compliance with the safety duties about illegal content.

So essentially a company from another country isn't following a law they aren't required to follow.
