Off to my first F1, Belgium. Any pointers?

The Red carpark won't fill up, as its basically both sides of a stretch of road that's about 2 miles long. They shuttle bus people back and forth. Turning up to the Red one at 8am should be fine.

The noise in Spa is epic. It bounces around the trees and sounds completely different to a more open track.

There is always a good atmosphere too. You will enjoy it.

Awesome, just what I wanted to hear!! :D

You have been a great help Skeeter, you have my thanks once more.

Something I just remembered, KangarooTV/Fanvision is no more (which is a shame, as it was epic) so don't forget to take some FM radios to tune into the commentary. There are speakers around the track but good luck hearing them over the noise of the cars :p

The track side commentary is covered by 2 or 3 different guys in different languages, including English.

The one at the track? It will be advertised around the track what frequency it will be on. Its not any major network or anything, its the local track side commentary, but its still quite good. Its what will come through the speakers at the track, but you won't be able to hear that when the race is on.

It will be in 2 or 3 different languages, but you still get a good grasp of what is going on. Some of the pronounciations of the drivers names will make you lol. I can't see Quaife-Hobbs name without hearing the French guys voice in my head saying "Ad-ree-enn eh.. Que-ay-fee Obs" :D

Hah ok, great tip thanks for that.

Final question, looks like one of my party isnt going. Do you need ID to redeem the tickets at the track? If not, i could give the ticket away.+

Edit: looks like you do. It says on the ticket, but wondered if on the day it was so busy they just skipped it.

I've not picked up tickets at the track before, but they are not individually named. You will need ID of whoever booked them to pick them up as a full order, so you can't collect all but 1 and then leave one for someone else to pick up. But if one of your group cant make it and you take someone else instead then that's not a problem.

No problem

If you see a large guy in his mid 20s with stubble taking pictures of cuddly toy Caterpillar (from The Hungry Hungry Caterpillar) on the apex of Eau Rouge after the race, it will be me, come say Hi :).

I'll have to hoon back to Brussels post race but i'll try for a wander first! :) I'm in GP2 Grand Stand, so i'll want to walk at least some of the track after
