Where is worth looking at?

I'm planning to take my camera, but will be short on time as I'm going on a business trip so anywhere around the centre ideally as I'll only get a few hours at best.

Theres the obvious stuff like Eiffle tower n that but I'd try n get some more interesting shots, you get some interesting characters walking around Paris, try for something unusual!

On a side note I might not be able to get any daytime shots, what sort of places are good for night shots (eg I've seen the eiffel tower lit up so guessing that's worth a look)

You might want to remove the last photo. The lighting on the Eiffel Tower is copyrighted so you effectively can't take photos of it an night if the lights are on.

I heard about that copyright thing, didn't stop me taking plenty of long exposures though.

yes you can. i did some digging up and found out that its ok if you dont plan to sell them

I would suggest going up the Mont Parnasee Tower which is the tallest
building in Paris. Beats the Eiffel Tower by a few feet and it's open until
12 at night. You get a brilliant view of the centre of Paris for a couple of
quid. You can see all the landmarks, from the Eiffel Tower, the Sacre Couer,
Napoleons tomb, the Pompeadeu centre, the Arc de Triomphe.
Notre Dame is also a good location (thats where I took that photo of the
little girl and birds for the motion comp)

Take a tripod as it's windy on top !

True but the time it takes to queue to get on it, you could have walked up it and lost a few calories

I've always thought there was a sense of irony that Paris' most famous church is on the hill right above the redlight district and Moulin Rogue

Well on the Eurostar on the way back now.

Only managed to get a few hours last night, I got a few of the Arc De Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower

IMO not a bad effort on my part and I'lll try to post some images when I've got home.

One thing I didn't know (for which I was told off by the Police) you aren't allowed to use tripods around the Eiffel Tower :confused:

not really sure why, but not that fussed was taking the last shot of the night anyway
