Off to Thailand to train Thai Boxing

The owner of our gym (Rawai Muay Thai) who is an ex champ is called Tuk. (That's his nickname, cannot recall his full proper Thai name).

~£200 training
~£300 food
I rent for around £200 a month.

I personally budget £1000 total per month which includes some entertainment (cinema, going out etc)

Food wise I eat out, every night. It's cheap, it's good and my local is more like family than staff now.

Training has been going great, finish up Monday, some days off then to Singapore Friday, home on Monday after.

My kicks are really coming together now and am starting to get some great power behind them.

I just got a load of pics back from the photographer. Got them cheap (Like £15) as I have been here ages and he has just been taking some of me every now and then as opposed to me asking him to do a set.

The joy of Muay Thai is anyone can get stuck in and be at a proficient level quite quickly AND there is huge headroom for improvement.

The monthly cost is pretty good, you get full access to the gym outside of the training schedules.

If it was not for the trainers and the quality of the training I would be nowhere near as advanced with the technique a I have been able to manage. I am no pro, but I have had the equivalent of 2 years training if I went twice a week, every week back home in a normal working schedule.

We get to learn Muay THai boran out here also (Old style) which is muchos fun and EPICALLY brutal. Lot's of grabs, breaks, knees to faces, spinning elbows etc

Any you want to buy really. Fights are 8oz, we spar with 18oz and I use 12oz for non sparring training. Some people use 10s, some use 14s.
