Off work ill

In the last 5-6 years I have had 1 week of sick. Went to work with a really bad eye infection and people at work was worried they would catch it so was sent home by my manager (Full pay tho). To be fair I could hardly see aswell lol.

So I tired to have a perfect record but people are wimps :p

In the mid 80s I stopped a whole production line when I lifted up my shirt to show my shingles and everybody walked off :D
The Sister came down and told everybody it was non-contagious but they still wouldn't come back until I'd been moved and they wouldn't send me home either.

This has been bought to you from the storybook of Dimple's Anecdotes.

Think I had 2 days off sick with flu about 20 years ago. Have been quite fortunate with my health

Last time I was off sick was 2009 due to swine flu so nearly 5 years for me. I am entitled to 13 weeks sick a year. I am not special and not really a health junkie either. I guess I just do not have the moral to take a "sickie" and see first hand the complications it brings at work when someone lets you down. I often contemplate it as so many do it around me.

I guess the GP's are the ones to blame as you can pretty much blag anything these days. One guy told his GP he wanted to throw himself in front of a train and got two months off plus limited working hours on return and was quite open about his lies to his fellow staff.

Haha I can picture the workforce running off as if you was a zombie wanting to eat brainssss

When you consider 60% of the workforce couldn't read or write they were the 80s equivalent of a Facebook poster.
Actually Facebook posters can read and write to a degree so they were lower IQ than them.

Equally as bad as people who pull sickies are those who brag about how little time off they've had due to illness, it's not a massive achievement. ;)

What if you've gone 26 years without a day off, that's surely got to be an achievement?
Lick my boots oldbag.

Mmmmm, mmmm, that fine unmistakable taste of leather.

You could argue though that any employer will not thank you for it particularly and will take no qualms in getting rid of you when it comes to redundancy time.

Bumping this because im off ill (Again jesus my health sucks)

Had monday off, went in for 2 hours this morning but couldn't do my duties as felt sick, dizzy and sat around achieving nothing because of it. In two minds if to attempt tomorrow if i feel the same way when i wake up or to leave it and rest up. I need the money but i don't want to feel terrible all day for afew quid :/

Problem being for me i have a supervisor who is a real **** who moans at my manager when i have time off and he then tells me he's "concerned" about my working times and hours. What can you do though eh.. Ill wait till they come moaning at me about it i can't help when my body can and can't function
