Moogman said:People at my work are far to serious for there own good and they are all younger than me which makes it worse. So far this morning I have watched as much you tube funnies as I can. Thinking of watching amovie full metal jacket has got my eye. Stress is a funny thingI feel like I have lost my own mind in the last couple of days. I work for a stupid catalogue shop that sells over priced rubbish to people with far to much time and money. I think this place is a breeding ground for odd behaviour no one there is normal.
The fat ugly one thinks she looksgreat and is always eating and paying herself complements.
My line manager has an eating disorder and flies off the handleat everything.
Porter number 1 is always hung over and farting
Porter number 2 thinks he is team leader/god but in reality nothing but a gobby......noisy arse.
Team leader is so arrogant and noisy, he also has bad b.o and no skill in leading a team
Manager is a control freak who like things just so. Shouts his head off everyday trying to do what he thinks of as his best to keep us slaving away.
The whip is cracked in my ear all to often for a job that a blind monkey could do standing on his head whilst peeing into a bucket. Its all OTT but they cant see it and its driving me nuts.

I dont know what to do with myself, finding it hard to unwind and relax. Why isit people make mountains out of mole hills and make work harder for themselves?. Any hoo what can I do to chill out?

im part time, worked at this place for 3year.
done a shed load of hours each school/college holiday (40hrs a week) i normally do 20hr a week, so its more than 16part time hrs
there is 3 part timers that have been there for 3yrs plus.... we've seen full time members come and go, take weeks on end off sick, be lazy... show no commitment.
so basically the part timers have ran the place
got 2 new fulltime members in last week, they have walked in on 60p more than us an hour.... and we are training them up to "run" the place.
our 2nd chef is on the sick...AGAIN. who is on £2 an hour more than us (p.s. she has had 47days off sick since march)
we talk to our manager, cant give out pay rises because the area manager wont allow it, but he can allow people just walking straight in on a lot more than us... who have showed loyalty, commitment, coped when the staff has been low on numbers because we've had loads of staff just come in and leave.
so me n richard (the other part timer) are handing our notices in on the same day. oh well
Moogman said:Good for you mate if I didn't need the few pennies they toss me once aweek I would leave today. I have been in the job since Oct 05 and have 5yrs previous experience in retail/stock control. I should be some where else realy doing better things.
