Offered a Smart Meter, Worth It?

If it's SMETS1 then not a chance, you'll end up with a smart meter that you need to supply readings from lol

A newer one mayhaps
SMETS1 haven't been fitted since 2018 when the government stopped them being counted towards rollout targets, and the vast majority (9m out of 16m as of Dec 22) have already been updated to work with DCC and allow switching between suppliers, resumption of automatic readings, etc. Customers with SMETS1 which can't be updated are supposed to be offered SMETS2.

they do absolutely nothing you cant do yourself ...

if you get the eon/ovo/bulb ones with the Chameleon IHD's with build in consumer access device/CAD you can get real time 30s resolution gas/electric consumption data from the DCC (not this 30min BS),
this is worth having, you can identify individual device turn on etc.

Even if that was true, like has been said I'm sure you wouldn't want to get up every 30 minutes to provide readings.

Why would you not want that automated? Surely you must have something you'd rather do with your time no matter how small than provide meter readings? Plus it's for free, i can't see any downsides at all myself?
every 30 mins ?? every 30 days .. like i said i know how much i use why do you need a smart meter if you use your own brain ?

you've calculated how much your electric oven uses typically ? (air fryer would just need a plugin energy meter)
I'm intrigued to know cooking a variety of dishes like scratch pizzas @250C , roasts/batters @200C, or 180/160C stuff .
equally morning porridge on the electric hob, but if I had a gas hob that would be interesting too ... with 30s data I'd know.

why are you so against them??

data collection .. profiling .. i'm old .. i like to keep things to myself .. other than me paying the bill what else gives a company the right to know what i'm up to ?
what data collection other than elec/gas usage??? and what profiling as you are already a customer, so will already know who you are?? and how would they know from said gas/elec usage what you are upto??

still 6 units a day, which we similarly use with an electric oven/hob usually cooking from scratch
... I know there is some fat in that ....the espresso machine on for about an hour a day is maybe 10% of that, also includes alternate days of cooked porridge!.

if the unit price goes up 50% in April, I'll be more interested in the use details, equally (as said) if a TOU tarif comes in I could access that, for washing machine overnight
