Got my first taste of this in beta after being action RPG starved since Titan Quest, got to say 'we not hungry anymore cuz'.

Just been playing some co-op with a couple of randoms, lovely stuff stomping through enemies as a tank :D

Any fancies a game some time please add me in-game, or join the Steam group!

More or less. The items you tack on increase your stats in the way you'd expect. More health, more dexterity, critical rating, pet damage, damage reduction from x type, that sorta thing. And you can convert items to cosmetic addons so they don't take up an equipment slot but can still be put onto your hero purely to change the look.

All the skills and main look are all set by the hero itself. All you get to do is tack things onto it. Its amusing but essentially all it is is an incredibly long winded process of equipping items. As funny as it was giving my spider some gigantic knee-pads, having to navigate through the menu's and add things to each hero individually just took forever and updating several heroes at once can take longer than you spend doing levels.

ah nvm then.
i was hopoign wih the creature creation + al l this talk of dna, it was how you models/built it that would actually change it's abilities .

There's a 100 heroes, probably 20-40 unique models. They're divided into tank/damage/support classes, obviously some skills might repeat/have alternate versions but I've only got about 8 heroes unlocked so far, and 3 skills on each one (more skills seem to unlock at boss encounters)

Every piece of armour 'snaps' to it's rightful place if you want to do things quick, but how can you not do spiked shoulder pad nipples?

why do steam offer a 4 pack if it's only a 3 player game?

Think you misread. You can select 3 heroes for your squad but you can play in groups of 4, where each player has there own squad of 3 heroes. Its kinda pointless though because for the most part in the Beta, you just used 2 heroes based on there 'Squad' ability in order to power up your main hero.

Oh i thought they had unique models for every one ><

They don't unlock more. All you get is your generic attack, a Passive skill, 2 Hero specific skills and 1 Squad skills that all your heroes can use. Overdrive gives you increased attack speed (and damage i think) and gives you buffed up versions of all your squads passive skills too.

Thing is its not selecting where the item goes that takes up time. Its the whole inventory system in general. Plus whenever you get a new hero you've got to kit it out. Then you've got to upgrade several of them. Then you've got to go to the shop and sell over 200 items. It just takes so long.
