Had to reinstall XP yesterday after the menu screen of the game froze after kicking me from a server. After reboot and repairing my install windows still died once bootin ginto windows.

Can someone briefly enlighten me to what exactly this game consists of?
Thinking of getting it because everyone raves about it, but at £26 i could get CoD5 (Loved them all). Not played a decent game since Cod4 back last year so hoping this may change.
Also, how well does it run on a x1950 Pro and x2-3800 (2.5) and 2GB ram. Windows XP at 1680x1050. All the source based games run flawlessly at highest setting with AA+AF. Hopefully this will be the same?

This is Source with bells on, so you'll probably have to turn some of the settings down. But it should run well.

It runs well on a E6600 / X1950 pro / 2Gb / Vista @ 1680 x 1050. Not tried AA/AF, never seen the use at that resolution
LOl, oh dear, not good. Mine appears to have been corrupted due to me unplugging what was supposed to be a HD i use for backups. I unplugged, then i turned on the PC and it now cant find the NTFS.sys file and even when i plug said drive back in it still stays the same. Luckily i was dual booting with XP, so if i unplug the backup drive again it gives me the option to boot into XP, and have managed to get retrieve all my music, pics etc.

Basically if you like 28 days later and the Dawn of the Dead remake and wanted to be part of the action then this game is pretty much for you. The co-op on this game is probably my favourite of all the online co-op games (CS:S is also very good along the TF2).
What with the 4 new campaigns that they will be releasing in the near future (i hope) and the replayability of it, i reckon it should have a pretty long life.

Erm I did do exactly the same thing just before I played. Unplugged an old HDD I hadn't plugged in for a while after I found nothing on it.

you + 3 friends fighting zombie hordes and special zombies, big mother zombies, and SHOOTING ZOMBIES !!!!!!!!
Also you can play 4v4, where 4 are the survivors, and 4 join the infected team and play as zombies. This mode is the best with many LOLs and zombie teamplay being awesome !
COD5 is like bad aids compared to this !

Had some awesome games over the weekend with the OcUK guys. Great fun.
Prior to that i was very "meh" about the game, and kind of regretted buying it... so basically if you're not quite sure about it, play on Advanced or higher, with a bunch of guys from OcUK with Voice Comms and perhaps a beer. Great laugh.

Hi Dampcat, have to agree when you play online with OcUK'ers it really is very good, especially when they play well as a team. I'm [OcUK] Defrag by the way.

Good game last night. I had fun destroying the entire team as a tank.
Indeed, enjoyed our game on Sunday afteroon. Think we should run it through on expert though, it was way too easy!
