***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Sorry guys had a quick change of plans as some family had come to visit so was unable to play tonight :(

Tomorrow or any other night this week though will be great!

If you're having trouble type "OcUK Left 4 Dead" into the search bar at the top right of your steam community page.

Once on the ocuk group page, at the top right you'll see an option to join the group. :)
 
Downloaded this game earlier after wondering for weeks whether to get it, and I'm LOVING it so much right now. It's been a long time since I played a FPS where the guns and sound effects actually sound pretty meaty. Nothing beats a game with some macho guns and loads of zombies coming for you.

I'm playing on a Dell XPS M1530 atm, so I had turn down a few settings. I've found the most significant change to be the Shader Detail. On Very High and High, it has the 'grainy' effect on the screen while it doesn't on Medium or Low and it looks kinda 'cartoony'. But I find it runs smoother on Medium, so I'm happy with that.

I'm trying to get my RL Steam friends to get this game as well!
 
Is this game any good in single player? Does the multi player have a strong following? Just trying to decide weather to get it on steam for £20.

It's all about multiplayer. the Singleplayer campaign is little more than a map-learning exercise.

Versus mode in multiplayer really sells the game and actually makes it worth the £20 asking price.

As usual, Sharpy hits the nail on the head. Asking for someone to be booted, or booting someone, in a Friends-Only game is well out of order - if you're saving a space, then just say so (Robert1986 did that to me once, before he realised how awesome I am).

When L4D first kicked off, someone asked the host to boot my brother from the lobby due to lack of an OCUK tag. One poor lad from the forums got booted from a Friends-Only game three times in a row because of no tag. It's pathetic. Tank has every right to be peeved if he got booted.

Good chance I'll be back tonight - I'm getting L4D withdrawal :D
 
This game is causing havoc with my game playing. Have been running through Half Life 2 again - every time a headcrab leaps at my face, I hit the right-mouse button is melee it away...with disastrous results if I'm using the assault rifle with grenade launcher attachment...

why are you playing HL2 and not L4D? thats the real problem

Haha! The RMB trick was a stroke of genius by the L4D developers, I really like it :)
