Guys IM BACK!! I Didn't play this for a month. Had other stuff to do and i was getting a bit burned out with it. I racked up over 60 hours in a single week before i had a months rest. It's nice to know that the rust was soon rubbed off and i was back to myself again.

It definitely definitely needs more maps now though. Even though i didn't play for a month, doing the same 2 levels over and over leaves you wanting more, but something different. It does make things better if both teams are equally as good which most OcUK games are anyway.

I've also got a new favorite character. The boomer! I used to suck pretty badly with the boomer. I always got killed before i even had chance to chuck last nights vindaloo over someone. I think i've got him down to a T now though.
Hide round a corner or behind a large log/rock with your other infected teammates, then click the spawn button at just the right time, milliseconds before the survivor group see you, step out and do your thing. If you're quick, you even get a second or third chance. Works every time. If you spawn too early, your noise gives you away and you're a gonna in 2 seconds flat!

It does get very frustrating when it wont let you spawn though. You're trying to pick the exact right time to spawn, the survivors are walking towards you fast, but it wont let you spawn because they can bloody see you, so you gotta move

a) somewhere else and quick!
b) miles away.
That gets annoying man and it takes lots of practice to spawn up quick and do the job successfully.

Anyway i'll be on 2moz night (mon) around 6 ish. I've got most of you on my list, so hopefully we can have a good un.

You're about to die... ;)

just played l4d on new i7 rig and got crashes to desktop
please dont tell me all source games still crash when running on more than one cpu core :(:(

Details please. I had this until I updated my X-Fi drivers. I'm sure you've done the driver thing and I know I don't have an i7 rig, but it's worth mentioning anyway :).

I've heard reports of lag on the servers. However, I *really* need to know if this is on one of the ones I provide or the other one not hosted by me (The "other one" is OcUK Private 5).

If it's the private 5 server then I'll have to suggest that it changes its search key or that it removes itself from the group server list (unless of course, it can be sorted out).

Glad to see that updating the drivers fixed it for you. I've gone back to xp as my main os again now and updated the drivers on that hoping to fix the same bug with Red Alert. It didn't make any difference, however I fixed that by turning off C1E...

I wonder if turning off C1E will help fix it for the other poster as it seems that the sound loop crash can be cpu related as much as it is soundcard related. Otherwise try disabling hyperthreading, just to see what happens.

In answer to Aekeron, it is one of the ocuk servers, but I couldn't say wherther it was yours or the other one. I will have a game on one later and see what happens.

Yes if people could state which server it is. If it is mine then i can take a look.

Online, even with old friends and some Vent action it was only enjoyable for half an hour or so for me.

Versus is sort of fun, but besides that..

I must say you are the only person I have heard say that.

Not every game is for everyone though granted, so hey.

I've just removed the public server from starting up as it was mostly used by randoms rather than us lot anyhow. I'm also removing some extra plugins that aren't needed anymore.

As Seaniboy has stated, we're not sure which of our servers is messing up at the moment, but I'll take these preventative measures just in case.

How do we know which server we're joining? Have you thought about putting a welcome message up when you join the server so we can differentiate? As in when you join and that window is open then you have to close it with H or something :p
