***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Like the fact that the winning tea starts as survivors. Makes it a bit fairer so that 1 team no longer knows on every round where the witch or tank is.
 
I'm happy with all the fixes, even the burning Hunter ones, and especially the Smoker ones.

I also like the idea of being able to join friends in a finale...

PS. I think the smoker cone is the envelope in which the smoke can attach to survivors - the latch-on radius increased as you get further away.

smoker buff! he's now more useful on the ground too
if anything i though they'd increase the hunter fire damage
 
looks like an amazing update, tank parking is a funny one cuz the ai tank is 10 times easier to kill than a human tank in most scenarios.

On levels like NM4 as the survivors just go into the tunnels behind the elevator parking the tank helped balance that tactic a little. Now if your forced to attack that map will become a camping session if theres a tank at the top early.

Love the winning team always going first that is a superb update.

Fixed a case where the Tank was moving too slowly while crouching and being shot

Hopefully that stops the tank being a spaz when trying to crouch through small spaces :)

Boomers that explode in mid-air will now hit Survivors directly below them with Bile

Love this expect to see more base jumping boomers :)

The scoreboard now shows the numeric value of a player's ping
Games in a finale are now joinable via the Friends and Steam Group games list

Its all good
 
Properly awesome update. I cant disagree with any of those choices. Cant wait to get playing again, but wont be on tonight...

Thats 3 nights of L4D missed! Football, Football, Bowling...

Friday night though... game on!
 
reading the steam forums there seems to be a few bugs with this update.

- Apparently the flaming hunter damage is now the same as normal hunter when it was supposed to be reduced in the patch

- also the ability for the tank to hit 4 survivors at once (for example in the old scenario in NM4 when they call the lift and camp in the corner or closet the tank should now be able to hit all 4 with one punch) apparently this isnt working atm and the tank will still only hit one target.

Looks like some good updates to me. Can't think of anything bad in there. Love the fixed take it in turns whoever is winning fix,.

Sharpy with regards to hunter damage when on fire, he used to do more whilst on fire, correct?

If they have reduced it whislt he is on fire they might have just put it back to default damage as though he isn't on fire. I.E - Nerfing them a little when on fire, but if you're on fire - it's you're own fault anyway :p
 
Hunter damage shoulda been left alone tbh. It makes you massively more visible so if you get a pounce in, you should reap the benefit imo.
I can see it may be fairer for winner to go first but I cbf playing survivor so I quite enjoyed always going first as infected.

Some good other updates there, though.
 
Setting yourself on fire was a tactic, I have been taken out in a few seconds (on VS difficulty, that's insane) with a burning hunter. I quite liked it though, burning hunters are easier to see and represent more of a threat, making you a bigger target. I don't blame them for toning it down a bit, but hopefully this same damage as a normal hunter thing is a bug and not intentional.

Not really played for a few days, but this patch looks like a fun one. Can't wait to dive in.
