im getting more timeouts and crashes since update
and i was the timeout/crash king before the update
new one, sound stops completely whilst playing - not just in l4d but in windows. i use a creative emu soundcard and its always been a bit iffy with vista.

Try updating your sound drivers if possible.
Also try verifying the game cache, it messed up for me last game update.

Though it does seem to have got a bit better since I moved to W7.

had a few crashes last night but enjoyed the games i had when i was on. Overall im liking the patch change with the melee meter etc.
Our team took quite easy to the change in playstyle whilst our opponents had a bit of trouble till the last few maps he he
Is strange but im still not bored of the 4 campaigns and 2 versus games, when april 21st comes theres 11maps in survival mode, 10 of which we have all seen in existing maps with ONE new map for survival. Thats not even a big update as were still only having the same 4 maps from the start of the game + one little crescendo lighthouse map, but am i bored? am i fek!
Once the SDK is out this game will explode with content and that will be it for my social life lol

Can anyone tell me why a team would keep kicking players in a game to make room for one ai?
Just had a versus game in which the team I was playing against would kick players around 30 seconds in to the round and then continuously kick anyone new who tried to join. I'm not sure if its related to this but Witch and Tank spawns were heavily reduced for them, to the point that on the 3rd level of No Mercy the infected did not get one tank.

I presume this wasn't on the group servers? People will quickly find themselves banned for that kind of behaviour.
