In answer to your question bloodline, the survival mode is a new game mode being added in the DLC which is essentially a finale without the rescue vehicle. You have to last as long as possible. Valve's longest is 8 minutes I hear, that's my aim to beat!

Bah, as long as you have m16s blasting the two tanks as much as possible and not always just running away, 2 tanks should be no problem!!!! As long as they're not human controlled! That's still one thing that I'm not sure about in survival mode tbh, if the infected are human controllled or not.

There's no difficulty toggle, they took it out for Versus.

Good game last night fellas. Very close and I don't think I was the only one swearing on my team about how &^*%*ing hard it was! :D

Reflux is right. The difficulty toggle for versus was taken out and it was locked to normal mode. And yeh, it was a good game that was difficult. Both teams made it hard for one another. I think our team only completed one level, and that was only 3 of us. Platinum and I did reasonably well at one point for just the two of us aswell :)

Cant wait for the DLC. Got a bit bored with the 2 map versus and mega busy, which is why I havnt been around.. but will be right back on it when that comes out!

Theres a mod to change difficulty, was playing on a server yesterday where it was set to expert.
 
Yes, there is.

Normal is the correct difficulty for Vs however - advanced/expert simply make it so that the infected don't have to work as a team so much. This has been discussed to death earlier in the thread.
 
valve team got to 10 mins, 8 mins is the gold medal time isnt it? Either way, ten mins by people who properly know the game inside out is, well thats one damn hard mode! :D

Can you possibly put an option in so that admins can change the difficulty if teams want it? I know I wouldn't change it very often but it might mean that if I ever have two strong teams or teams that want a quick game (shorter rounds ;)) then I can always change it to advanced for example...
 
I'll look at the plugin again and see if this can be done - I seem to recall that it was rather clunky last time, but that was some time ago.
 
Survival mode will be 4 player only AFAIK i dont think theres any versus survivor mode on the way.

I think it will be a great distraction but we all know the other 2 versus maps will keep us all entertained for a long time to come :D
 
Hmmm, should be out in a couple of weeks or two no? Can't wait; I was having a bit of noclip fun on DT last night, looking for the best places for Infected to attack.
