im trying to play l4d on my mobile internet, not running too bad considering. gets a bit (as in extremely) laggy in survival mode when tons of zombies are about but generally playable in the other modes. obv. can cut down some gfx effects and shut off anything i don't need in windows but any other tips in console or otherwise to improve perofrmance?

Try turning off multicore rendering, that sometimes helps :)
 
Where's the best place to defend in survival, construction site? I've played all the maps and this one stands out as the hardest, so any advice would be welcome :)
 
Anyone got a good place to hold out on the Lighthouse? Its the only one i need a gold on and I'm finding it impossible.
 
same idea again in the main room with teh fireplace, one in each corner, grab all the stuff from outside and place it in teh room with the bathtub

you can put stuff in teh bath so you wont shoot it thru the wall, have one person get an item from the bathroom as you need it, i.e gas can or fire can

When things get desperate after 10mins or so make a run for the roof and just run round and round the main tower you can go another 5 mine there
 
Out of interest, is there any update on the CEVO config on your servers yet at all Aekeron?

Still playing this, will probably be on tonight, though the next time I'll be on after that will most likely be friday :)

Weird game last night mate :)

I've never come so close to rage quitting as that before I must admit, but then remembered it was only a game and lol'd at the things that were happening :)

Thanks sharpy! I'll try that later today, yep smokers rule construction map! there's 3x more specials than other maps - it really stands out as the hardest, pitty they didn't make the others more of a challenge.

The lighthouse was hard too but another exploit means it's now easy, camp on the chimney stack and watchout for smokers, the hoarde can't see you and tank rarely makes an appearence!

Yeh, that was amusing. :D Both teams were reasonably equal, with ours having the upper hand slightly I think. I was on fire though, managed to save one other incapped guy then rescued him from numerous smoker/hunter attacks, only for the other two to die and him to get got again. I must have dodged and killed at least 3 hunters before I was eventually incapped by the only surviving teamates' pipe bomb, lol. Numerous boomer ****ups as well though I noticed. I wish the boomer range wasn't so dodgy! :p

This basically sums up my situation. I was really busy with getting back into enjoying TF2 more and then my cousin is visiting this week.

I should be up for a game Friday night!

Has OCUK Server been given the CEVO config yet? It works on our server but we have to use rcon admin and exec the config that way (I'm sure there is a way to get it in source mod).
 
rcon would be cool. Any time that you can. :D

Also, some good games tonight guys. I played a Versus game, then a couple of survival, getting another gold with it :)

Still need to do some expert coop sometime on expert however. This sat maybe, anyone?

Rock on Friday for versus though, that's when I'm next on :D

EDIT: With rcon actually, maybe we could use this to run the l8d mod if possible aekeron?
