***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

i was playing on a modded server just there and the action was intense, ive never known a game where the 4 of us were gettin owned yet loving every second of it.

Dunno what the mod was but if we stood around waiting on a respawn etc then it was not a good idea as hordes would come.

Id recommend any1 to try this.

So from people who have played the demo already? Does it look like it is in a BIG city? Is their lots of rooms and places to go in?

I think it’s pretty big, there’s plenty of room to explore around in the demo to make it enjoyable but it would be nice in the full game to have some more interaction with objects, stuff you can knock around for example. Use those HL2 Physics!

For anyone thats played this, is it possible for you and your group to literally take a safe place on a roof where its impossible for anything to reach you whilst you just pickoff a load with sniper rifles for a laugh ?

How strategic can it be in terms of actually thinking about where to hide or is it just a case of having no cover and just blasting everything hoping you'll hold out ?

Premise of game really appeals to me but I dont want it to just be run and gun or a shotgun fest, would like it if theres opportunities to choose a good place where 2 can cover the entrance and other 2 are like second cover etc

It’s not really possible no, if you can jump to an area of security then so can the zombies, they are human too :p (obviously more dead!)

You can gain advantage by using a high point though because whilst they climb up you can cap them off. The streets section is a good point for this where you go on top of the van in front of the alarmed car. All of you on the van and set off the alarm then begin the killing spree as they try to climb up.

like u did not understand  my mind was somewhere else when i was typing that.

still demo is bit dull and boring for some reason

it will not be that big as tf2 was when it came out

You're the only person that seems to have not enjoyed it. Is there anything in particular you think is wrong with it or is more just a general feeling of boredom? What could they do to improve it?

what difficulity do you play it, i played it on easy for the first round or 2 and i must admit was a bit bored, but once u bump it up to hard /advanced/expert what ever they are, it becomes a lot more interesting as it's hard as gone off cake!

That is a good one :)

On expert, my favourite so far is clearing the first level and getting to the safe room, then running back and capping the car so the alarm triggers.

At this point leg it to the safe room and all be positioned to have a constant rain of fire from where they will emmerge - try not to let any through.

One downside to doing this once is that we had a tard team mate who thought it would be funny to mess around with opening/closing the door. So much so that the guy who triggered the alarm ran backwards, realised the door was closed and so opened it to get inside the room himself...Unfortunatley for us the zombies were right behind him and ALL came piling into the safe room and destroyed us all :D

I'm still looking for a place to get the demo tomorrow and at what time so my friends who haven't preordered can play too!!! If I find anywhere I will update here.

Would be cool if you could use claymores, trip wires, proximity mines or remotely detonated bombs :p

Come to think of it a F.E.A.R like slow-mo mod for close shotgun pawnings :D

Not played the demo, for someone who loves zombie movies do you reckon it's worth me buying it outright or should I try the demo first ?

Try the demo, its free to the public tomorrow (nov 11th). I've clocked just under 20 hours on the demo and still finding new ways to beat it. Its still hard as nuts after all this game time. The tanks are near impossible to defeat without team work.

Is it not available early Wednesday morning though? Due to time zones etc.
