***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Despatched today, wooty wooty wooty, so shall be here tomorrow or sat. Fantastic news as Im away this weekend.

See you lot next week for major fun :D

So far I have played 3 out of the 4 campaigns on COOP

And No Mercy + Blood Harvest on VS Mode.

The campaigns I have done with friends and community gamers, only on advanced as we have no idea where we are going. The average start to finish time on those is around 1hr20mins.

Put expert on you are looking at at least 2hours. Considering every time its different I think it will take a while to get bored of it as long as you mix up the people you play with to make it interesting.

The VS mode is damn well great fun, except agree with the previous comment of team balancing. Last night I was playing with a great team to start, we escaped every time on NO MERCY. Yet later on I played Blood Harvest and people we just runnning off on their own and dilly-dallying about like they had all the time in the world or like they were playing COOP.

Still , good times, good game, well worth the money I have paid ALREADY.

Mine was despatched at 5am, should be here tomorrow. Or Saturday at the latest. I promised 3 of my friends that I would wait until they all have their copies till we continue our adventure though, and they were too tight to pay for decent delivery.

Oh well. It'll be worth the wait to carry on our adventure with the same characters, better for immersion, see. :D

VS mode is soo frustrating! As long as the survivors stick together the whole way there doesn't seem much you can do to stop them. A decent team usually does that and rushes the map which gives the infected no chance really.

nah you really can, if ya in a tight spot and you manage to vomit on 2 of them and get 2 hunters in there two thats like 1/2 the dead almost dead straightaway :) we did it last night. was a bit :S about vs at first, but now i love it :D

Mine just landed on my desk. They seem to have forgotten to pack the manual and to tell us it's based on a very old engine.

"Features 100's of Zombies and 20 new maps, 10 new weapons and four sprawling "Movie Campaigns."

20 new maps? 10 new weapons? As oposed to which old ones? Thought this was a new game.

Ah well, will see if it was worth it later I guess.

Email in trust for my address in that case.

Old engine or not it still looks a fair bit better than HL2/Ep1/Ep2 easily. The smoke effects, the multicore rendering option and the lighting and the fire behaviour/quality are all some of the best I've seen in a game. Even with 8xFSAA 16xAF max settings it barely drops below 60fps at 1920x1200 on a 512MB card with all those zombies on screen....

im happy with the gfx.. as long as the game is intresting it keeps me going... just forget about gfx.. what's the point of multiplayer games if only 10% of the users car run them at over 30fps... eg crysis..

I'm looking forward to this game, but new to online gaming. Let me know if there are any friendly survivors out there.

P.S. I don't mind being used as bait!
