***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Had a Game last night and madmalc joined. I cant remember the other guys names.

But it was the fastest game of Dead Air, and the first time I have completed it. The would run through the game, only stopping for tanks and the first waves of hordes. I could not believe it could be done that way.

Was a good game but strange that the other waves of hordes didnt come after you.

Ok, I said.
Next minute we are closing the safe door behind us & starting the next round.

Robert1986, Gecco, Lyon and I had the longest game of Dead Air.. EVER. It was like 6 hours or something.

It was on expert (my first time on expert, and it's quite a steep curve from Advanced), and we got to the finale but we just couldn't get the two tanks down with everybody standing. I guess we were just too tired by that point.

Great fun until then, even though i sucked whilst getting used to the difficulty. Was a hilarious couple of times where i'd somehow survived a zombie horde and then Lyon shot me in the head, and once i'd done it to someone else.

C64 is right. This is a painfully average game until you get 4/8 people of decent ability with mics and determination, then it becomes awesome.

WIll not come on until I sort my connection, steam disconnects every 10 mins, I timeout, lag massively at the start of every game and when joinging as infected have to wait ages before spawning.

Will try and find a fix, increased the SNR on my DG834GT and steam still crashes. Time to reinstall steam !

Played some Versus last night & spawn time on Infected side seemed well off, Not noticed it before but I was continually waiting to spawn where as when Survivor we had around 5 Hunters against us within around 3 minutes

I've had that a couple of times...

I've waited the 20 odd seconds to spawn...it says 'Spawning', then stays like that for about 2 minutes! Really is annoying sometimes.

Hunters are as dangerous as mice, just need to learn how to keep them off you. It's easy trust me

That is amazing stuff - on Expert i hope (wouldnt expect anything less from you guys ).

I am still in the process of sorting my pc so may be on tonight but will have to see.

Do you all add each other to friends? I cant join the left 4 dead ocuk group. Should I just add everyone?

We actually did extremely well on dead air last night considering it was on expert. I don't think we had to restart a level once up untill the finale! About 4 minutes into the finale, Lyon went M.I.A for about 20 minutes. lol.

Was good, those tanks are such a pain. Would be so much easier if they didn't spawn every boss infected too. You also don't get that long to take one down before it starts sending hordes and boss infected at you again.

Yeah, sorry! There is no room for error with the hunting rifle, one shot and you're down. To be fair, you were surrounded by like 50 zombies, I didn't even know you were there. You were going down anyway I normally have a very low FF count.

Pretty much mate. I just joined the group then went down the list adding everyone to friends.

That way, when you start up the game your friends that are playing scroll up and down on the left and you can join their games if they have free slots.

The next common tactic is to start a lobby the invite spam everyone on the list until 3 join

You can now join games through the member list. There is no way to tell what map or difficulty people are playing on unless you add them though.

Most people just add everyone.

I can't join either, it says its invite only

Edit: That's odd, every time I refresh the page it flicks between Public and Invite Only :/

Edit2: Now its public all the time, wonder what was up there!

You know, i've been mulling it over in my head, literally, and i'm just finding it impossible to appreciate an almost molten-hot 700mph shard of metal invading my face

It was funny though. Certainly made up for all the times i shot at him doing 20 health here, 30 there, whilst flailing wildly with a shotgun in the general direction of zombies that may, or may not, have been near him at the time.
