Lol. The custom sprays mocking each other are damn impressive 
To be perfectly honest (I'm not digging at your here) I've had no issues with the servers showing up on the Steam main menu, at all....it might take 30 seconds to load up every now and then, but that's it.
Connection issues...I've not had many, only time I have 'connection issues' is when I go into a quick match, and it happens to find a server then attempt to connect me even though it's full (although probably someones just beaten me to the spare slot etc)
I dunno, something amiss....do you have the ports open for Steam etc? Could be anything.
Strange though for Steedie, I have a friend (who I mentioned many pages ago when asking for advice), who is unable to get onto ANY game in L4D on his desktop PC.
It worked fine when he first had it for a few weeks, stopped playing for a few weeks, came back and it just wouldn't join any server at all. He could play local though.
Funny thing is he has troubleshot it to the point of having to format/reinstall windows, which he isn't going to do for a game he doesn't play often. Nothing on forums about it.
Yet on his new laptop, same network/router, etc it works fine. There is no explaination and I have troubleshot with him in some depth...I just assume there are some bugs with the game still and the likes of Steedie and my friend are the unlucky ones to experience them first hand.
I used to have more problems connecting to servers and stuff when the game was first released but barely at all anymore. I assume it was the same for everyone (only able to join through an invite or clicking on steam friend "join game".)
