I caught someone mid-jump with the smoker tongue last night! they were jumping down from the tank on no mercy and i nabber her

Was amazing that it worked when I cant smoke a standing target normally!!

The building I work in is three stories high. From the accounts room I could open a window and get such an awesome 25 damage pounce onto any shoppers below in the high street.

Still...none of them are trying to avoid the zombie apocalypse and I'm not really a hunter so there are two major flaws in my plan really...

On the other hand you could pretend to be a boomer, throw up out the window onto the people below and see if you get the award for getting them all in one go. Failing that, see if they get the award for passing on a rare strain of the infection

Is there a demo for this game? I fancy trying it but can't really fork out £28 for it right now. Also, I don't want a retail copy as I prefer to download games now (legally I mean).

Also, being the Source engine, if I can run CSS fine, will L4D run the same, or just as well?
(My PC is getting on a bit now

)

Alright mate, basically the demo was only available through steam before the game was released. After that there was no more demo and I don't think you can play one to this day.

Best bet is to borrow a friends account to try it, or maybe watch some youtube vids of it being played in game to get the feel for it.

My PC is at least 2 years old now and it runs LFD fine, the beauty part of it is that it is the SOURCE engine. So if you can run CSS, HL2 and TF2 reasonably, you can play LFD.

I run it on a Geforce 8800 GTS and it's absolutley fine! You can find it cheaper if you buy the disk online ~£20 instead of closer to £30 through steam

I highly recomend this game though, it's such a good crac when you're playing with the OcUK guys.

If this is a bit much to stretch too then you should investigate QuakeLive for a good (FREE) fps game:

practice a bit in the Single Player vs thing you can do..

treat the smoker tongue like a rocket launch in quake 3 -aim slight ahead of your target (the red indicator is bull most of the time), even shoot just before coming into view (if you're strafing) and it his quite a lot more

Yes we are all on most nights. The group has something like 400+ members in it now. There are your key guys who are on most nights, myself included, that would be good to start with. Although we are mainly about VS so maybe best to start with Coop to learn the 4 campaigns first

LFD has:

Single player coop - 3 bots and you. Offline play. Boring, just there to see the game and start learning.

Online coop - you and 3 real buddies play the same coop campaigns but real people instead of bots means it gets harder and you can crank up the difficulty, etc.

online VS - 4 people playing humans, 4 people on the other team as infected. Mass slaughter commences. This is the final stage of the game really and is about player .vs. player. Tactics, strategies and lulz often ensue
