***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Have they fixed the bug where you could leave and rejoin the team to respawn (was particularly annoying seeing constant influx of hunters in VS mode :D)?

Should run fine. Albeit on low settings.

As the above poster said there is a 24 hour free trial this weekend so you may aswell try it then and see how well it runs and test how high you can crank up the settings.
 
Just a quick heads up

Left 4 Dead Update Released

Updates to Left 4 Dead have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Survival Mode


Removed an exploit from The Construction Site

Fixed issues with Survival Mode medals not being awarded properly in rare cases

Times will no longer be awarded when joining mid-round and cheats had been active during that round


Servers

Server will now reset correctly after all players leave a Versus game



Match Making

Fixed a mismatch between lobbies and servers that will remove the "Server is full" errors when quickmatching

Fixed match making issue affecting Vista64 users

Hahah that is lol. I almost burst out laughing in the office!

Had a game of survival with some friends and ScareySquirrel last night. Tried the construction site on Dead Air and it was pretty bloody hard. I have no clue how people managed to get gold let alone some of the top times (exploit possibly)!!

There were smokers piling up everywhere and it got to the point where we were just getting dragged left right and centre, they also only seemed to drag when all **** was hitting the fan!!

Good game anyways, looking forward to some VS, haven't played that in a few days! Probably 9pm onwards for me tonight!

Yeah I enjoyed the games last night, I hope I didn't let the side down. I am glad we got gold on that other level despite me firing on our explosive stash. It was worth it though :p

When you left, Uzi and I had an impromptu 5 minute 1v1, which was great fun as the two AI characters kept reviving us, it took a while but eventually he got me after we had both downed the AI people.

Fun times!

I'll be on a fair bit over the weekend so chuck me some invites if I am on :)
I suck at playing the infected though :(

Our 12 minutes was not an exploit my man, we're just hardcore zombie-killin' mofos with attitude.

We stayed put in the area under the sleeping bag; it's quite easy to defend because of the scaffolding which means you can shoot out, but they can't get in.

Nah I'm not talking about a time like 12 minutes, that's reasonable and at least looks do-able.

I'm talking about people on my list with like 26minutes +....cheating ******** in my opinion!

Squirrel - np mate, if there is a game going on and you are online I'll whack you and invite!

LOL about the 1v1, thats always good fun when you have finished a game or waiting for something. Best thing to do is knock them down and start molotov'ing the ground where they are laid ;)

I always get singled out on those games because people want to kill me for some reason :)
 
We have a 34 minute on DT: Drain, it was before the patch that fixed the tank not spawning after 15 minutes. We just defended against common infected and hunters with pistols and 1hp for a further 15 minutes, no sneaky exploits or anything.

Those scores should be wiped now in all fairness, even if it meant a global wipe, because they aren't competitive anymore.
 
Deathmatches are good fun, I think I have made people fear me running up to them carrying stuff, usually precluded by me saying, "hey, I got a present for you!" shortly before throwing a petrol can at their feet.
