*** Offical Monopoly City Streets Thread ***

Its crawling super slow for me :(

Edit: Well managed to eventually place my houses. Filled a $3m street full with 500k Grid buildings, so should bring in $40m tomorrow. If anyone has a spare hazard card then Fargson on 37th St SE North Dakota is a good target. He dropped a hazard on me earlier but I couldn't return the favour :(

Looks like they reset the rents back to the old 1 million road cap, so a 50k house bring in 50k even on a much longer road.

Just checked, roads are not capped at M1m like before the reset, just rent.

Got to admit that the rent was getting crazy but not exactly fair resetting the rent - no official word on the blog or twitter. I hope you people that got good roads early appreciate the extra rent you earned!

FFS!

Leave the ****ing game alone. Went and filled a road with high cost buildings due to the increased rent and now it has cost me more than it was worth. Ridiculous.

Bah this game is becoming **** right in front of my eyes. They can't decide what rules they want to play by..........seems like monopoly board game with my brother :p

*sigh*

Game has been nurfed. :(

Spent loads of money on buildings to get a good rent income and they do that. Would have been better if I had not bought the buildings. Just lost loads of money

I was looking forward to my first big rent payday as well :(. On top of that, all my roads have been attacked before rent was due. If anyone can help, NATE34, FAKEEMPIRE and DBUG could do with losing some buildings.

Yep they offically have just pulled all the fun out the game...

I cant understand why they did that though, if I buy a 10m street I'd expect the rent to be a lot more than a 1m street?!

I have been thinking about it and all it has done is slow the game down a bit.

As it was it was getting silly. Buy a M5m road, put five green houses on it and get your money back in the morning seemed a bit silly.

Now it is all about the slow a steady growth of an empire rather than an explosion. Where would we have been in a week with the previous rents when we all had M30m+ roads bringing in billions? There is still a benefit of buying the longer roads as a way to keep below the tax bracket. It will be a proper investment buying a big road though as it will take days to pay for itself.

I do think it extremely poor that it wasn't advertised or anything. I assume that they set the game going on Friday (or was it Thursday?), went to the pub to celebrate and then a nice weekend. Come in Monday morning and realise that there are a whole load of people with legitimate fortunes far bigger than they exected and checked the code. Then they realised that when they removed the M1m cap on road prices they forgot to introduce a rental cap and fixed it sharpish.

Quick question: If all my roads are sabotaged, I earn no rent. If I earn no rent, how do I chance cards so that I can get rid of the hazard buildings to start earning rent??

You get $1m just for logging in the first time that day.

Yup, I'm jacking it in. No real point to playing now - you can't control an area due to tax and I just can't be bothered if they keep changing the rules *during* gameplay. If anyone wants to buy one of my roads let me know, although there's no real need as there's more than enough to go round!
