Office 2010 is out

great I cannot wait to use all those features that were missing from office 2003...

I'm sure our company will benefit from increased productivity of the staff, and the 1000's it costs to upgrade will soon be made back by said procutivity increase...

You place not have SA or similar then?
We'll be upgrading everyone to 2010 for.....free!

And although I'm sure the sarcasm will be lost to many.
As an upgrade from 2003 staff productivity will actually initally fall - this is while people get used to the Ribbon.
Once they do, productivity will increase above the point where it was with 2003.
So yes, I'd say the thousands spent could possibly be made back by increased productivity.

Just thought I would make you guys aware if you have a windows mobile phone.

Apparently Active sync does not work with 64-bit version as there are parts of the 64-bit version of office that don't play nice.

Microsoft have recommended that you stick with the 32-bit version of office 2010 for now.

One of the third-line guys at work told me. So don't have any links to provide with.

Could someone please verify this.

On the download page for the upgrade version there was two download links and for some reason there wasn't anything showing what each one was. For anyone that wants to know, the larger file is Office, whereas the smaller is Business Contact Manager for Outlook. I downloaded them both to check.

On a side note, damn am I going to miss my uni internet connection when I move into my house next year :D

EDIT: Also, when I installed it there was no option to install a 64bit version.

Sorry I didnt understand. There was a download button but it didnt specify 32bit or 64bit. Can you help please?
There was 2 purple icons with an lighting strike though them called Delivery Client. The top one for the 32bit version and the bottom for 64bit version.

I want the 64 bit version too but can't find it (didn't see any option for it using the technology guarantee download) - can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Been using this for a couple of weeks now and I must say I really, really like it. Then again, I really, really liked 2007 when it came out :o
