Is this possible at all? I am not quite sure from the FAQ:
http://office2010.microsoft.com/en-...010-technology-guarantee-faq-HA101830513.aspx

The deal I am refering to is the Student "Office Ultimate 2007" deal that can be had if you have a university email address.

http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-uk/default.aspx

(It says you can download 2010 when it becomes available, but whatabout users who already purchased it a few years ago? (back in 2008?)

Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

Customers who purchase and activate a qualifying Office 2007 product (with or without a new PC) between March 5, 2010 and September 30, 2010 may be eligible to upgrade their qualifying Office 2007 product to a corresponding Office 2010 product when it is available.

Think that sentence would negate those users who bought it previously?

Only heard about this when I saw your post. Annoying that it has to be after March 5th. I may buy another copy of Office 2007 in order to qualify, unless they plan on doing a similar deal for 2010. You can use the beta of 2010 right now, though.

See I thought this, but then surely I could uninstall/reinstall and activate Office 2007 again?
Also it mentions something about a tech gurantee between sometime 07 and 2010. Whats that about?

Can you buy another one with the same .ac email I wonder though?

Im still not clear about this... do 2007 Ultimate users who bought this in 2008 get a free upgrade or do we need to buy a brand new one?

Your in the same boat as me, I bought mine last year. If I want Office 2010, then i have to buy the full version.

But if I get access to another .ac.uk email addy surely I can get this version and get the free upgrade?

But can anyone confirm that indeed its only up to a certain date of purchase that users are eligible for the free upgrade to 2010?

If you bought it before the 5th March, then you wont get the free upgrade. But, it is an waste of time buying 2007 though the student link, when you can buy the 2010 version when it comes out, for the same price as the 2007 version. Like Win 7, Office 2010 will be available to students from day 1 of release.

I think they said that they will give you a free upgade to the 2010 version if you buy the 2007 version now, so surely not a waste of money?

Also cheers for the dates!
