I'd seriously reconsider running all those machines off Wi-Fi![]()
It's perfectly possible to work in a team while also having a clearly defined personal desk. And get off wifi, stat.
What else is on the network, or does the Time Capsule handle everything from mirroring of local disks to internet sharing?
What do you do for backups?
Cool, at least you aren't relying on Time Capsule for backup
Did you go IP with your phones as well or is that Mitel (I think) handset in your photo the system you're on at the moment? What's it like working with an SVN repository hosted off-site over the internets?
I thought it was a little unusual to, espically for a programmer, I've never seen an workplace like that before. It looks more like a meeting room or classroom.
I personally don't think the desks are tiny. There is lots of space around the computer.
We don't want 'closed' in desks either because this isn't exactly good working conditions when your working in a team. We want people to work together, not be alone in their own little space while they dase off while watch Youtube videos.
Stop bitching about his work set up.
Keep this thread on topic.

It looks pretty much like training room setups that I've had to do many times before, single desk, with the trainer at one end and systems all around.
No drawers, no personal space, nowhere to pin things, nowhere to store anything, screens are too close, chairs look too low (for good working conditions your eyeline should be level with the top of the screen). I'd absolutely hate to be in an environment like that. I work in an office where everyone is in a team but we have a decent bit of personal space and some privacy.
