Folks,

I have a fairly small home Office (2x3), which I really need to sort the lighting out before it gets dark early.

Currently, just a lightbulb, hanging from the ceiling..

Any suggestions, photos?

No matter the solution, make sure it's LED Based. Recently changed the lights in my house (and office) to LED. They're 'expensive' but well worth the outlay. The light is so much nicer to be in!

I changed to LED and wouldn't go back. A nice bright office is much easier on the eyes if you are doing VDU work.

First thing to buy is a decent task light, it doesn't matter how well lit the room is if your work area is constantly dim.

Don't like LED bulbs, still got the old fashioned "idea" bulbs in. The light from LED's is nasty I think, it's just pure white and the LED's always stay a little bit lit.

If it's not bright enough, get a higher wattage.

pitchfork it entirely depends on the LED lamp and "brightness" can sometimes be down to the colour of light, rather than it being too low powered.

No idea what you're on about with the "little bit lit" though, I've got some in my kitchen and don't have that issue.

I like suspended lighting for offices, and it's what we've got here. The lights a lot softer and I feel like it makes the ceilings look taller and lighter. Also still looks professional.
