Not sure I can add to what’s been said in the comments, but it might appear that these brave officers are not getting the support they should be able to reply upon.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the officer in the Chris Kaba shooting is convicted next month, and also the fate of the officers involved in the Manchester Airport incident.

**** being a cop nowadays. Yelled at, threatened, spat on, the closest backup is now twice as far away as it was a decade ago, if it turns up at all, bumping in to the very people you arrest a fortnight after you arrest them, and worst of all, being blamed by Johnny Public for the failures of the government. And for £lol a month.

And then thrown under the bus by your superiors.

I don't want labour a point or get this thread closed, but if the officers in the airport incident get charged and their attackers get off scot free, then what kind of message does that send to serving police officers, let alone anyone thinking of joining the force?

There was a time I was "proud" whatever that means, now I'd gladly never go back.

It's getting harder to be proud of one's country when everything about it is getting dismantled in slow motion right in front of our eyes.

Couldn't agree more, although my post was more about the state of our country than being solely about the state of our police.

I'd much rather be with UK police today than 40 years ago when some people seem to think it was all rainbows and butterflies
