Quite a fun race to watch

Russell's temperament is costing him. Seems to get too frustrated too easily and then **** things up.

I reckon he made that mistake where he almost binned it due to Lewis being right behind him, and then his desperation at the end caused him to retire.

Mercs strategy decisions today were mostly bobbins.why start Lewis on mediums? Then from 13th why not just be one of the first on inters? They had nothing to lose and everything to gain. Can't believe they kept both out. They could have had a Merc on the podium if they'd pitted them onto inters at the same time as Perez went on to them.

I thought their strategy with Hamilton made sense - he was well down the order so it made sense to try alternative strategies to try and get him up the order

But Russell was a clear podium contender. They should have gone conservative with his strategy. Instead they dumped him in it, and the incident with Norris (60-40 on Norris, imo) ended his race.

Not sensible. McLaren too stuffed it up for both drivers. Piastri was unlucky with the SC as well

I rated it a 7, but I’d maybe have put it a 8 or 9 without the red flag farce. It really took the shine off at the end. I was glad to see Alonso get 2nd and you could see he was thinking if the win was a possibility. Great result for Gasly too, who needed one.
I wonder how long Tsunoda has left, he seems like a fast driver who can’t stop making mistakes.

Not sure why people think the red flag was a farce. There'd been several cars aquaplane off at that corner. No way Zhou's Car could have been safely recovered without a red flag then.

I give it 8/10. Entertaining race.

Maybe due to the timing?

As soon as Zhou crashed it should have been red flag but they delayed it for a while.

So I did watch the c4 highlights after seeing it was a good race.

Kind of glad f1tv has been taken away. I watched about an hour of the race and it was mostly the start and end. Obviously no waiting around for red flag periods etc.

Apart from 4-5 minute add breaks, it makes the whole race seem much more exciting.

Glad to see gasly get a 3rd. Especially when he overtook sainz after falling behind with the penalty.
Some great and ghastly strategy calls.

Perez. Was poor, as usual.
Riccardo stand in. Good day for him
Sargent. Get him out

I'd have rated it higher than 7 if we didn't have the inevitable Max win.

It was a bit like Monaco. A lot happened but we still ended up with the same top 3 as the grid there!

The 2023 Dutch GP has set the record for the most overtakes in one race with 186, beating the record set at the 2016 Chinese GP which had 170.

Details and breakdown of each one here: https://www.gpblog.com/en/news/233879/dutch-gp-sets-record-most-overtakes-ever-in-an-f1-race.html

Interesting points to note, this doesn't include overtakes in the pits, on lap 1, overtaking lapped/unlapping cars, cars that have spun off and of those 186 overtakes only 59 were broadcast live.
Not surprising only 59 were broadcast when you see most of the total number were all on lap 3 and 4.
