2014-2020 without Merc would have been epic too.
But strange how that's never mentioned by the fan boys.

?

Would it?

2020 - 2nd Place Red Bull finished 117 points ahead of Mclaren (3rd to 5th was close though)
2019 - 2nd Place Ferrari were 87 points ahead of Red Bull who were 272 ahead of Mclaren!!
2018 - 2nd Place Ferrari were 152 points ahead of Red Bull who were 297 ahead of renault!

Considering the points difference between 1st and 2nd place in a race is the biggest (so the gaps between 2nd and 3rd above would be even bigger), it's quite obvious that the 2nd place team in all of those seasons would have likely won it easily.

I cant be bothered to keep going, but surely you get my point?

Wow seems to be the least popular gp for a while.
Obviously sky will talk it up etc, but blimey no one really seems interested, I think Baku was a huge disappointment to a lot of fans.
It seems from social media that the new fans brought in by DTS are having their first taste of a season likely to be dominated by 1 driver and are on their way out again. The last races being mostly dull even in the midfield hasn't helped either.

Also, the Americans being absolutely rinsed for ticket prices is causing some negativity over there. It's about $400 for a grandstand seat on a straight in Miami, and Vegas is even worse with tickets being costly, and accommodation prices also being raised for the week of the GP.

And back on topic

i looked at going over there for a race but the pricing is as obscene as it is in Europe.

I paid $75 for a three day pass to the F1 race at Indy in 2001. That was general entry and no reserved seat on Friday and Saturday and a main straight grandstand seat on race day.

I'll probably watch quali in a bit just to help decide whether to bother watching the race tomorrow. I certainly can't drum up any enthusiasm to watch this weekend though.

If the season carries on this way, I wonder whether the FIA will ban whatever clever tech / loophole Redbull have discovered that makes them so quick with DRS (as they did repeatedly with Merc and their DAS, rake angle etc).

Yanks aren't bored of it yet, they had to put up more stands this year due to demand. They will get bored of it after a while though, americans are all about parity in their team sports, whereas in Europe most of our biggest sports are purposely setup to not allow parity.

Its one thing they do really well, team sport/sport competitiveness. Very rare you see an NFL or NBA side dominating year after year. And the college pathway is far superior too.
