Agreed, suppose the money from the UAE to hold the last race of the season was too good to turn down. Abu Dhabi shouldn't even be on the calendar, terrible track.

JB's win in Monaco was more down to his skill than the double diffuser. Other than that yes the teams caught up but on the other hand the Brawn car was not developed much beyond what it was at the begining of the season.
However the performance advantage was not just down to the DD alone. Aerodynamics, mechanical grip etc. are more than about one component as both the Toyota and the Williams had the DD at the start of the season also.
It was more than likely down to the performance of the car not being developed, maybe also JB tightened up a bit under pressure, plus Ruben's complaining might have meant the teams focus was elsewhere.
Maybe we'll find out more in Keanu's documentary...

A lot of the reputation of the Brawn that season was down to Button's skill. Vettel might well have won the season without his influence. Jenson won six of the first seven races while his teammate managed only three second places.

Agreed, even Ross Brawn described him as being special..
Always thought Button was under-rated and frankly drove crap cars for most of his career.
In a Hamilton era Merc he would have won multiple titles.

FP1 finishing order as grid start would make a semi-decent sprint race or full GP!
