GTX 970 / 980 are absolute beasts imho. All this performance VS the power consumption is awesome.

With the low TDP of the 980, I'm sure they could build a fully enabled GM204 (4096) 990 dual chip and just lower the clocks to be under 300W.

Amazing that they have achieved on 28nm.

I'm tempted to just wait for the dual card tbh. Though maybe it will never appear.

Great scores on the 970's :)

I'd be tempted to buy, if only prices hadn't increased recently and could buy a couple under £500. I knew prices would do this, had to wait for reviews and peoples thoughts on the forums :)

TDP of 195W on GTX680 (GTX690 was rated at 300W TDP) versus 165W on GTX980 suggests its perfectly feasible but likely to pay extra for those energy savings of a full Maxwell core, ideally not any more than £800 for that GTX990 (for pricing I'm looking at that 295X2 for only £700 with free games and even 395X2 with new cooler). Saying that, limitation of dual GPUs for OCing are tight and would prefer a Classy/Lightning to do as I bloody well please :)
