Maybe but 8 Pack told me to use Windows XP for Vantage, as it is far batter with that bench but I cba to load a copy of it onto a spare HDD.

The strange thing with this bench is single Vs SLI and at most points of the bench, the single card sits at the same fps as the SLI cards. It just felt meh! I have also done the older 01/03/05 3Dmark runs and I get hammered by cards like a 580...

The older 3DMarks it's all about IPC, raw Mhz. Kind like SuperPi. Our SB-Es are well and truly outmatched in anything lower than 06 so it's kinda pointless benching it

06 Isn't too bad! Having a dedicated <06 rig just for benching would be nice

Tuning your CPU overclock wouldn't go to miss either for your Vantage runs, 47k for 5Ghz is pretty slack memory. I get 51.7k for 5.1Ghz, pretty sure Kaap gets over 52k.

Depends on how much of a gain i'd net, for me to consider it.

2223Mhz 9-11-11-25-96 1T
I run 5.1Ghz, i get a decent balance of memory, pci-e and CPU overclock with 104.2 x 49. My memory goes well over 2400Mhz, but with slacker timings so only get a tad more on CPU score, stick with 2223Mhz and 1.55v

I benched my other 5870 at the weekend and got a better score, my best score is on the Bot i just forgot to grab the link before saving the picture!

Did you ever get round to testing the difference in scores using 100 bclk or raising it for the same clocks?

Yer and no difference. It stayed within the margin of error. I can only guess my OC on 100X50 was good but my OC on the GPU wasn't, hence the massive dip in points.

Similar results here. If anything I found, I needed more volts to achieve the same clocks by messing with the bclk and strap for minimal gains.
