no i don't even have one. that's why i'm posting a thread here. come and post your results and maybe persuade me to buy one..... :D

i'm especially interested in the results of the stock non-overclocked models - can they clock as high as the xfx extreme edition @ 440/1300? i'm not interested in links to articles, but rather ocuk user testing.

many thanks. :)

Interested in seeing some results too. Toying with going pci-e route but means changing a lot of gear that im otherwise happy with so this may persuade me to wait a while :)

higher overclocks have been had on the 7800GS, i also looking to buy, come on post some data...or are we all waiting for the price to drop, even a little to entise the 6600GT bracket to buy... which is where you'll get the players....

Is the 7800GS the 6600GT that was the Ti4200 beast?

I had Ti4200, it was awesome, i now have 6600GT and looking for price performance upgrade in the 7800GT....

Marc2003, why you run a base card like the MX4000 and ask about 7800GS? I guess you have another gaming rig about?

i'm poor and only have 1 pc. this is my gaming rig..... :D

i had to sell my 6800gt over xmas as i was skint, that's all. the mx4000 was the cheapest thing i could find locally just to tide me over for windows/web stuff until the end of this month - bonus time at work.... :)

i've been looking around too. the 7800gs is much cheaper elsewhere. what's going on ocuk?

PS: anybody here actually got a 7800gs..... :p

Hi guys, called down to OcUK today and picked up a BFG 7800GS. Mightily impressed with it. Standard clocks were 400/1250 and coolbits detected optimal at 520/1480  not tried running at this as i thought maybe its a little high but sitting pretty at 470/1400. Very happy :D

nice. so that's 2 different brands running past the 460/1350 standard of the evga. very tempting.....

just got to wait another 2 weeks until i get me bonus from work now..... :(

Would the artic cooler 6800 work on a 7800GS u reckon?

Also, Ive seen no mention of unlocking the extra pipes, I take it this is still a basic G70 core? Anyone tried unlocking em yet? (sorry, been away for a week)

Hi all.

I bought a BFG 7800GS last Friday(curses to the £20 off now ;)) and have been running it quite happily at 490/1350 with a 2.8 barton and 2 gig of Corsair twin X .

F.E.A.R and BF2 run smooth as silk but Everquest 2 seems to have a problem when the core is clocked higher then 460

3D05 gave me 6365 on the first attempt.

I was running a Asus 6800GT before but it was only the 128 meg varient so this is the boost I was looking for before upgrading toward the end of the year.

Hope this helps anyone make their mind up.

Hi BFG 7800 users,
Just wondered how quiet\noisy is your card?
Thanks, Danny.

Suppose people have different ideas of what they consider noisy, in my opinion the BFG card is nice and quiet, even with fan on full its hardly noticable from in the case

What temperatures are people getting with their 7800GS AGPs???

Mine idles at 44c and after 2 hours of battlefield had risen to 54c. Seems quite cool to me (that is with card at 470/1400)

That's pretty good to hear, mine had been on for probably 5 hours, when I looked at the temp at 55, mind you it had only been sitting doing a speed disc... is that a bit too warm???

My case only has one fan, at the back which is set up to blow heat out the back, would I be better off having it blow cold air into the case???

Valve

anyone know if its possible to slow the fan down a bit, i have one in my shuttle but find it slight ly too noisey for when im not gaming

You can also edit the bios for 2D and 3D fan speeds., the only time your card should be loud and at full speed is booting into windows before the nvidia driver loads up to take control and run according to temps.

Ive never heard my agp 6800U (overclocked to 475/1250 (for now) running full speed inside windows or games.
